In-Reel Features

The visuals, for instance, remain striking while leaning into a more extreme, heat-and-ice take on the prehistoric era. Few slots look as bright and bold as 10,000 BC DoubleMax, and the sequel follows suit, soaked in 4ThePlayer’s punchy graphic style.

Beyond the presentation, 10,000 BC 2 DoubleMax once again blends DoubleMax with Gigablox effectively, much like before. The bigger influence is clearly DoubleMax rather than Gigablox. With the multiplier capable of climbing to x2,048, it’s the mechanic most likely to shape outcomes—hence its place in the title. Gigablox do their job and look impressive, but their impact is naturally capped since they’re essentially 2×2 or 3×3 blocks of the same symbol. In contrast, titles where a single Gigablox can cover most of the screen tend to feel more dramatic. Still, getting chunky clusters of matching symbols is never a downside. Less appealing is that the win potential remains fixed at 10,000x the bet even with several new additions, and the RTP reduction leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Players who prefer to skip ahead can now do that via the new multiplier spin option, alongside the ability to buy free spins. That said, it wasn’t easy to pull a strong return from purchased multiplier spins.
